Claire Wineland, a 16-year-old survivor of cystic fibrosis and author of "Every Breath I Take," recently won the Soaring Spirit Award for her courage in facing valiantly, and with great optimism, her long battle with this life-threatening and debilitating disease. Cindy Abbott raced in the Iditarod since our first interview with her in March 2013, continuing her quest to raise awareness about her rare, life-threatening disease, Vasculitis, and the National Organization of Rare Disorders (NORD).
